Microsoft calls them “the most advanced Windows laptops ever.” Pre-orders for the first laptops built on NVIDIA’s new RTX Spark platform opened in the US on 7 October 2026, and the first devices are scheduled to ship from 16 October. If your business has been waiting for a Windows laptop that runs serious AI work on the device itself, this is the launch to watch. You can reserve one in Singapore through Sakal Network today.
What is an RTX Spark laptop?
RTX Spark is NVIDIA’s platform for Windows laptops. It pairs an NVIDIA Grace CPU with an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU, and the two share one pool of memory. According to Microsoft’s RTX Spark page, the platform offers:
- Up to 128 GB of unified memory, shared by the CPU and GPU
- 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance for running AI models locally
- Thin, light designs starting at 14 mm thick and as light as about 1.4 kg (3 lb)
- All-day battery life (results vary by device, usage and settings)
Microsoft positions the laptops for productivity, creative work and AAA gaming, with enough headroom to run demanding apps side by side.
The launch line-up
Six laptops headline the launch:
- Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra, which Microsoft calls “the most powerful Surface ever for creators and developers”
- ASUS ProArt P14 and P16, OLED laptops for creators
- Dell XPS 16, with a haptic touchpad and gesture controls
- HP OmniBook Ultra 16, with a haptic touchpad and gesture controls
- Lenovo Yoga 9n 2-in-1 16, with pen support and soundbar audio
In the US, the Surface Laptop Ultra starts at US$2,599.99. Singapore pricing and local availability dates have not been announced yet. We’ll confirm both with everyone on our pre-order list as soon as they’re released.
Why it matters for Singapore businesses
For most SMEs, the benchmark numbers aren’t the interesting part. What matters is what changes when AI runs on the laptop itself instead of in the cloud.
- More AI work stays on the device. When drafting, summarising and analysing files happens locally, less of your data goes to outside services. That’s worth weighing if you handle client or patient records under the PDPA.
- Developers get real local headroom. Up to 128 GB of unified memory means larger AI models can run on a laptop. Microsoft says GitHub Copilot on Windows balances local and cloud AI for supported coding workflows.
- Creators get one machine for everything. Video editing, design and 3D work can happen on a laptop light enough to carry between client sites.
- You stay in control of AI access. Windows lets you manage permissions for how supported AI agents access your data.
One thing to check before you roll out
RTX Spark laptops run Windows on Arm, not the Intel or AMD (x86) chips most office PCs use today. Most everyday business apps run well on Windows on Arm, either natively or through the emulation built into Windows. Before you buy for a whole team, check a few things:
- Peripherals: do your printers, scanners and specialised hardware have drivers that support Arm?
- VPN and security: are Arm versions of your VPN client and endpoint security agent available?
- Line-of-business software: has the vendor tested it on Windows on Arm?
Our team can review your current software list against these points before you commit to a fleet order.
