Why Businesses Stay With Us

We’re not the cheapest MSP in Singapore, and we don’t try to be. What we are is reliable, responsive, and honest. Our clients stay with us because we pick up the phone when things break, we give straightforward advice even when it means recommending less expensive options, and we treat their infrastructure like our own.

Over a decade of managing IT for Singapore businesses has taught us what works. We bring that experience to every client, regardless of size.

IT Managed Services — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about our MSP service, onboarding process, and how we handle executive/senior staff transitions.

What’s the difference between Silver and Gold MSP plans?+
Silver MSP covers business-hours helpdesk (Mon-Fri 9am-6pm SGT), proactive monitoring, patch management, and up to 8-hour response time. Gold MSP adds 24×7 coverage, 4-hour critical response, weekend availability, and priority escalation. Most SMEs (under 50 staff) start on Silver; companies with production systems running outside business hours or with executive teams working irregular hours usually choose Gold.
How long does MSP onboarding take?+
Standard onboarding is 2-4 weeks, broken down as: Week 1 — discovery and documentation (audit existing infrastructure, identify critical systems, meet key stakeholders). Week 2 — tooling deployment (RMM agents, security tools, backup). Week 3 — knowledge transfer and process documentation. Week 4 — go-live with shadow support. Complex environments (multi-site, legacy systems) may take 6-8 weeks.
How do you onboard senior leadership and executives differently?+
Executives receive white-glove onboarding: a dedicated technician handles their devices in person (not remote), we schedule changes around their calendar (not ours), and each executive gets a direct phone number to our senior engineer for priority issues. Their devices are set up with the same security policies as standard staff but with expedited response SLAs and care around specialized apps (CRM dashboards, presentation tools, bespoke industry software). We never take an executive’s device offline during the workday — all imaging and migrations happen after hours or over weekends with their EA’s approval.
What’s the onboarding process for our C-suite and board members?+
We start with a 30-minute executive briefing covering: who we are, what will change on their device, what won’t change, how to reach us, and what ‘escalate to Sakal’ looks like. We give each executive a physical card with our direct line and their account manager’s mobile. We audit their devices for any non-standard apps or custom integrations (e.g., financial dashboards, board portal apps) and confirm everything still works after our tools are installed. Any business-critical app is tested in front of them before we consider onboarding complete for that person.
What about their Executive Assistants (EAs) and admin staff?+
EAs get priority treatment too — they manage executive calendars, travel, and sensitive documents, so their devices and access are mission-critical. We work directly with EAs to schedule any maintenance, never interrupt their workday, and give them a dedicated support channel separate from the general helpdesk queue. For EAs who handle highly sensitive data (M&A, finance, HR), we apply enhanced access controls and audit logging.
How do you prevent downtime for VIP staff during migration?+
Parallel deployment. Instead of a cutover where old tools stop and new tools start, we run both in parallel for a transition period (typically 1-2 weeks). VIP staff keep using what they know while we validate everything works on their device in the background. If anything breaks, we roll back instantly — they never know something went wrong. Standard staff can tolerate the occasional 15-minute outage during migration; VIPs cannot, so they get the safer slower path.
Do you send an engineer on-site during the first week?+
Yes. For any MSP onboarding covering 10+ staff, we deploy a senior engineer on-site for the first 3-5 days of go-live. This person handles walkthrough sessions with executives, addresses real-time issues staff can’t articulate in a support ticket, and builds the relationship with your team. After the initial on-site period, we transition to remote-first support with on-site visits available on request.
What happens in the first executive briefing meeting?+
A 30-45 minute meeting, usually with the CEO, CFO, COO, and IT lead. Agenda: (1) overview of Sakal Network and our team, (2) what systems will be managed and what won’t, (3) escalation path and response SLAs, (4) quarterly business review cadence, (5) how you contact us for strategic vs tactical issues, (6) what we need from your team during onboarding. Executives leave with our direct numbers, written SLA commitments, and clarity on what ‘good’ looks like.
What tools do you install on our devices?+
Three categories: (1) RMM agent for monitoring, patching, and remote support (NinjaOne or Datto RMM depending on fit); (2) endpoint security — SentinelOne or Bitdefender; (3) backup agent for workstations if included in your plan (Acronis). All tools are explained to end users, visible in the Task Manager, and removable if you offboard. Nothing is hidden or runs as a rootkit.
Will you have access to our sensitive data?+
Our technicians have access only to devices and systems required for their ticket. We use role-based access control, MFA on all admin consoles, session recording for remote sessions, and audit logs retained for 2 years. We sign an NDA during onboarding and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) covering PDPA requirements. Your executives’ personal data stays on their device — our RMM does not exfiltrate documents, emails, or screen content.
How do we escalate a critical issue out of hours?+
Silver plan: email the helpdesk (queued until business hours). Gold plan: phone the 24×7 hotline; response within 4 hours for critical issues (production down, security incident). Executives on any plan can call their account manager’s mobile directly for anything they consider urgent — we triage on their behalf.
Is MSP billed per-user or per-device?+
Per-user for staff with a single laptop/desktop + mobile. Per-device for shared workstations (reception PCs, meeting rooms) or additional specialized devices (design workstations, servers). Your account manager reviews device inventory quarterly to keep billing aligned with reality — we don’t silently escalate headcount.
What’s the minimum commitment period?+
12 months from go-live. After the initial term, the agreement rolls month-to-month. You can exit with 60 days notice at any time after the first 12 months. Onboarding costs are amortised into the monthly fee, so early exit doesn’t incur penalties beyond the unpaid months within the initial term.
What happens if we decide to leave?+
Clean handoff. We give 30-day notice support, provide all documentation (network diagrams, passwords, vendor contacts) to your next provider or internal team, remove our tools from devices, and transfer ownership of any licences purchased in our name to yours. We don’t hold data or credentials hostage — everything belongs to you from day one and we make the transition as smooth as onboarding was.

Managing IT for a clinic or healthcare provider?

Under the Health Information Act, MOH asks healthcare providers to obtain regular vulnerability reports from their IT service provider, and to have thirteen cybersecurity and data security measures in place — from September 2027 for GP clinics. See our HIA compliance guide for Singapore clinics.
